Types Of Distillation Columns Distillation columns come in a variety of forms with varying degrees of sophistication and are each created to carry out certain kinds of separations. Batch Columns In a batch operation, the feed is introduced to the column in batches. In other words, the distillation process is carried out once a "batch" is charged into the column.
